ALFRED LAMBERT VAUDOYER FRENCH ARCHITECT National School of Fine Arts 1846-1917 Student at the School of Fine Arts and in the studio of Léon Vaudoyer from 1867 to 1872. In 1869, he obtained a second honorable mention in the Achille Leclère competition for a proposed monument to Rossini. In 1873, he presented at the salon a project for a monument commemorating the defense of Paris and a project for the reconstruction of the Protestant temple in Strasbourg. In 1876, he obtained a second mention in the competition opened by the city of Marseille to erect a memorial monument in memory of Henry Espérandieu. From 1873 to 1877, he was a sub-inspector at the agency responsible for the reconstruction of the Marsan pavilion and the rue de Rivoli gallery. In 1877, he was first class sub-inspector for the works of the Town Hall. In 1879, he obtained a second medal at the Salon des Champs-Élysées and a second class medal at the salon for a project to restore the church of Jouy. In 1882, a fifth prize in the Sorbonne competition (in collaboration with Galleron). In 1884, the Duc prize, tied with Albert Ballu. In 1886, the ninth prize in the competition opened for the Universal Exhibition of 1889. In 1889, a silver medal at the Universal Exhibition (class 63) and a third class medal (Fine Arts). In 1890, a first mention in the acclimatization garden competition. From 1874 to 1875 he built a funeral chapel in Villeneuve (Morbihan). In 1877-1878, for the Universal Exhibition on Rue des Nations, the facades of the states of Central and South America, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Saint-Martin and Andorra, from the principality of Monaco, in 1879-1880, a private mansion on rue Appert. From 1884 to 1886, he built a castle in Seine-et-Oise, near Versailles. From 1887 to 1889, the press, post and telegraph pavilion at the 1889 Universal Exhibition and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Exhibition. On March 19, 1880, he was appointed rapporteur to the Committee, resigning on April 6, 1881. On November 26, 1901, after a competition relating in particular to the cathedral of Chartres, he was appointed diocesan architect of Marseille, in place of Revoil. He was a knight of the Legion of Honor since May 7, 1895.
