Shoe buckles
Pink gold and silver set with Rhin diamonds
Gross weight : 118 grammes
Dimensions : L. 9 (cm.)
Fine pair of unmarked precious metal shoe buckles, the pink gold imitating a garland, and the silver for setting.
This type of buckle became very popular in the last quarter of the 18th century and gradually increased in size, until it was "shaving the floor". This was largely due to the influence of the Comte d'Artois on men's fashion. These curls even took on his surname across the Channel.
