Exceptional secretaire with flap in rosewood, amaranth and tinted sycamore veneer, exceptional marquetry of a view of a palace, ancient ruins and a city in the background on a tobacco wood background and mother-of-pearl inlay. Panels framed with queen marquetry and bronze rods. Canted uprights and straight legs. Upper drawer decorated with a bronze frieze with a very finely chiseled floral motif. The interior has six small drawers and four compartments.
Veined white marble top. Work from the Louis XVI period stamped JP Letellier, received master on December 16, 1767.

Very likely collaboration with André Louis Gilbert, received master on July 20, 1774, in particular concerning the marquetry of the central panels. An almost identical secretaire was made by Gilbert and is presented in Pierre Kjellberg's book, French Furniture of the Eighteenth Century, p. 404.
