Pastel drawing on paper, workshop stamp lower left. Dimensions framed 45 x 32 cm. Late 19th - early 20th century.

Still life, bouquet of yellow roses with green and purple leaves in a vase with bluish shades. Bright colors offset by the soft effect of pastel. Background in gray and brown tones. Impressionist style late 19th - early 20th century.
Ernest Quost (1842-1931). French impressionist painter specializing in landscape and still life painting. Exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1866 and at the Universal Exhibition of 1889, where he received the silver medal. His flowers were appreciated by his peers, including Monet and Van Gogh.
