Superb small rectangular lady's desk with central projection on an oak frame with rich geometric decoration inlaid with violet wood on a rosewood background, the front opens with a drawer, resting on four round tapered and roughened legs joined by an interlaced spacer. Gilded brass trim, signed on the lock "Veuve Sormani Fils, Paris 10 rue Charlot", 19th in Louis XVI style. Work by P.Kjellberg, French furniture from the 18th century.
