"Sacred Heart Of The Virgin Mary - Large Enameled Sculpture 108 Cm - Signed And Dated 1880"
Superb and large sculpture representing the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Sacred Heart. Beautiful terracotta with a very beautiful crackled enamel for the white veil, and painted elsewhere. Due to the firing, the sculpture is in two parts. The date "1880" and the signature "E. Ornix" for what I guess, but which is not necessarily the correct reading, are located under the base. A few very small losses or chips, the most significant on the right sleeve seems to be an oversight or cooking accident. Total height approximately 108 cm, too heavy for my precision balance. Due to its size and fragility, I will personally ensure delivery for France and Europe.
