Lovely Indian ink drawing signed and titled, 28.5 x 18.4 cm Illustration of the heroine Dolasilla from the “Dolomite Encatades” portfolio. The boards interpret fables and legends from the Dolomites region in Northern Italy. Dolasilla is a heroine of the legends of South Tyrol, daughter of the king of Fanes, a man hungry for power and wealth, who stole objects of great value from a people of dwarves. Dolasilla, shocked by this theft, returned to the dwarves what had been taken from them. As a reward, they offered her white armor and predicted for her a destiny as a great warrior, but not without dangers.
