"Double Fetish Burkina Fasso Beau Soclage"
Magnificent double Bobo from Burkina Faso, probably late 19th or very early 20th. The previous owner, a collector from Bordeaux, had a beautiful stone base made there which particularly highlights it. The wood is very eroded and parts missing, but the essentials are there. One statue has more of a honey patina, the other is darker, the sculpture is very raw, expressionist, it gives off a beautiful serene presence, as is often the case in ancient works.
