"Marguerite Fabre (19th Century) Esméralda And Her Goat - Notre Dame De Paris"
Softness, finesse, sensitivity and femininity for this watercolor by the artist Marguerite Fabre active in the 19th century. The work in good condition is offered under glass, in a modern gilded frame which measures 58 cm by 46 cm and 37.5 cm by 26 cm at sight for the watercolor. It represents the famous Esmeralda, a key character in Victor Hugo's masterpiece, in the company of her goat, in the background of the cathedral. A pretty subject, a very beautiful technique for this watercolor which is difficult to take a photo of because of the glass, and much more beautiful in reality. It is signed and dated (18)91 lower right.
