"Engraving Cut Of Royal Navy Vessels - Plate From The 18th Century Encyclopedia - Golden Wood Frame"
Beautiful plate, engraving from the encyclopedia of Diderot and d'Alembert presenting the sectional plans of 2 warships of the French Royal Navy from the 18th century: ship of the line and galley. 18th century engravings in Louis XVI style frames in gilded wood with gold leaf. Beautiful set, an opportunity to evoke what the bedroom or work room of a naval officer could have been under the Restoration around 1820. Indeed, the boards dating from the 18th century, the French flag is here the white flag royal of the ancien regime and not the tricolor of the revolution and the Empire. The whole is in excellent condition, gilded frame with gold leaf restored by our gilder. No accident or missing, very beautiful gilding. Width: 91.3cm Height: 59.6cm
