Superb large flowerpot with an interpretation of Japanese decoration with polychrome bird on an ivory background from the Gien earthenware factory, circa 1860 Slightly gadrooned shape in the shape of a lotus and serrated edges Base in plain dark blue cut earthenware known as "gros bleu" from Gien which was made in imitation of Chinese bases which were in carved wood On one side a superb bird branched among flowers, on the sides insects such as butterflies, flies... and on the other side a superb bouquet of apple blossoms Externally the upper edge is garnished with a frieze in shades of yellow, blue and turquoise Internally a fresco made up of decorative elements in the Moorish style presenting themselves as reserves which follow the curves of the notched border Imposing piece of collection that sparkles with its luminous colors A real splendor for any passionate enthusiast total h: 36.6 cm d neck: 29.5 cm h pot cover: 22.2 cm h base: 14.4 cm d base: 24.4 cm Very good general condition (1 mini chip under the base) See ref: "Faïences de Gien" by M.
