Joseph Auguste Brunetton, born in Lyon on February 11, 1863, is a portrait painter, painter of interiors and still lifes, and a landscaper, whose pictorial writing is all in nuances of light. He entered the School of Fine Arts in Lyon at a very young age, where he was a student of Michel Dumas (1812-1885), then was part of the Académie Julian, in Paris, where he received teaching from Jules Joseph Lefèbvre and Gustave Boulanger (1824-1888).
