Object description :

"Portrait Of Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans (1627-1693) Duchess Of Montpensier 17th Century"
Beautiful portrait of Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans.

Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans, Duchess of Montpensier, known as the Grande Mademoiselle, born on May 29, 1627 at the Palais du Louvre and died on April 5, 1693 at the Palais du Luxembourg, is one of the main personalities of the aristocracy of the Grand Siècle. Daughter of Gaston d'Orléans and granddaughter of Henri IV, she was the first cousin of Louis XIV.

She took her title of Duchess of Montpensier from her mother, Marie de Bourbon, Duchess of Montpensier. To this is added the fortune of her father, which makes the Grande Mademoiselle the richest and most titled princess in Europe.

Independent, endowed with a strong character, she did not hesitate to stand up to her father and the Sun King about marriages they wanted to impose on her or her immense fortune, which she insisted on managing herself, at her majority, thus becoming a formidable businesswoman.

This 17th century oil on canvas is of very good quality.

Everything in this portrait is beautifully treated. The hair is of great finesse, his blue eyes are strikingly realistic.
His garment, especially lace, is of great execution.

A similar work is kept at the Prado Museum in Madrid.

This celebrated woman was painted by the greatest painters such as the Beaubrun brothers or Hyacinthe Rigaud.

There is certainly a beautiful discovery to make for those who will know who to attribute it to.

High quality, this oil on canvas is in very good condition, it has been rentoilée.

Beautiful oval format, the work is sold without frame.
