ARTS OF ASIA-JAPAN-ARTS OF FIRE SATSUMA OVENS JAPAN 19TH CENTURY EARTHENWARE PERFUME BURN Small earthenware perfume burner, from the Satsuma kilns (born in the 16th century, during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, on the island of Kyūshū ), pagoda shape, has sockets and fretel lion/tiger head and body decorated with scenes of characters and polychrome motifs on gold-gilded glaze. Beautiful cream glaze, very thick and cracked in the first coat (undeniable signs of original age). Connection to the Imperial family by the presence of crosses in circles. Signature in red with a brush under the base. Good general condition (wear, traces; see descriptive photos). Weight: 428 grams.
