"Dimitri Chiparus (1886-1947) Large Art Deco Bronze"
Important patinated bronze sculpture from the Art Deco period circa 1925 signed on the back CHIPARUS (Dimitri CHIPARUS 1886-1947) Model listed depicting a group of smiling children in bust with curly and wavy hair faithfully stylized Art Deco. The whole rests on a black marble base in a geometric shape. Very good general condition, dimensions: 50 cm long and worked in Paris. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts with Antonin Mercié and Jean Boucher. The artist was inspired and trained in the most prestigious establishments of his time, most of his greatest works were produced between the years 1914 and 1933, his work was inspired by the Russian ballets and the French theater, around 1920 this great sculptor was inspired by excavation work in Egypt, notably the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun. Maturity of the artist's work reached peaks in the 1920s, remarkable sculptures contributed to his notoriety.
