"Grand Tour - Dancing Bacchante - Oil On Paper - 19th Century"
Dancing bacchante, Italian school of the 19th century signed lower right in red (not deciphered) and titled in Italian. Oil on paper mounted on cardboard. The dancer is represented, in the center, in an oval with a black background and gold edging and the whole is on a background painted dark green. This bacchante is based on the one discovered in 1826 to the left of the fresco depicting the marriage of Zephyr and Chloris in the house of the Bacchae in Pompeii.
Condition report : good condition, small wear outside the central oval
