"18th Century Barometer Thermometer From The Louis XVI Period In Gilded Wood"

Louis XVI barometer in gilded carved wood with circular dial surrounded by scrolls on which dolphins rest. The thermometer resting on its lamp base is surrounded by bay leaves. The pediment is decorated with musical instruments and crossed ribbons. The dial is marked “Par Roffi - Chartre”. Original gilding, the few wears of which reveal the plate which is the underlayer of the gilding. Complete barometer and in very good condition. Height 93 cm, width 47 cm. The buyer will have the option of having the barometer restored to working order by the Atelier du Val de Grâce in Paris, specialized in the restoration of old barometers (Price in November 2023: 380 euros).
