"Venetian Delicacy: Two Ewers Under Victor Emmanuel Ii"
Magnificent pair of Murano glass ewers from the late 19th century. These two jugs are made of mixed pink and white blown glass; with a spherical body and long neck bulging at the bottom. They are fixed on bases in embossed and silvered metal, with a rich openwork decoration of foliage, shells, scrolls, etc. to which are added bunches of grapes in gilded metal and vine leaves. This charming vine-themed decoration is repeated on the body and holds a volute handle applied to a leafy branch. The necks are decorated with a finely chiseled silver or silver (?) metal pouring spout. Small deformation of a foot indicated by an arrow in a detail photo. The silver metal shows some scattered oxidation. I present to you these beautiful objects in found condition. I don't see any accident to the glass, nor any restoration. These lovely jugs come from Venetian workshops, undoubtedly for the European market. Note: Very refined creation of objects not very common in the art of the table. Delivery: €15 for mainland France.
