"François Szulman, Painting 1970s, View Of Port "breton Barques"."
SZULMAN (François), painter born in Paris on June 5, 1931 (Ec. Fr.), Just after the Second World War, he was admitted to the School of Applied Arts in Paris. He abandoned his artistic studies to help support his family but quickly returned to painting as a professional painter. This is how he exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants from 1951 and then at other equally renowned exhibitions such as the Salon d'Automne, the Painters Témoins de notre Temps, the Nationale des Beaux-Arts etc... His first exhibition personal took place in 1967 in Paris in the Régis Langlois gallery. It was a success and enthusiasm for his painting continued to grow among amateurs and collectors. A landscape painter, he draws his themes from everyday life. His falsely naive style allowed him to stand out with a painting that was singular and less figurative than it might appear in a thick paste reminiscent of enamels. This very beautiful work, an oil on canvas from the 1970s, titled “Breton Barques” shows a lively view of a port at low tide.
