"Wrought Iron Lamp - Circa 1925 -"
Spectacular wrought iron mushroom lamp, circa 1925, decorated with roses. Exceptional work, art nouveau/art deco transition. Signature on the base to be identified (VAKY?). The quality is quite similar to the pieces of Edgar BRANDT or Paul KISS and is undoubtedly the work of a great master of artistic ironwork from the 1920s. The scrolls and most of the elements are forged in 1 single piece (no visible welding!). Admire the ironwork, particularly on the junction of the elements, the scrolls, the petals, the hammering. We have never encountered a similar model. This is a unique piece. The decoration of waves surrounding the mushroom globe is absolutely fabulous: the curves, the dropout and the volume given to the whole make it an absolutely exceptional piece in the category of wrought iron table lamps. The dome is made of marmoreal glass. It is surely the work of Charles Scheider (a signature in carton can be hidden under the wrought iron frame). The dimensions are massive: 60 cm in height 30 cm in diameter for the globe alone 21 x 21 cm at the base The whole thing is in impeccable condition. The electrification works perfectly (bayonet bulb). A truly rare piece, not to be missed!
