Jacques Charlier: Painter in miniature of Louis XV from 1753 and one of the best miniaturists of his time. In this capacity, he received orders from Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour and was also the protégé of Caylus and the Prince de Conti. A student of François Boucher, he was not an academician and rarely signed his works.
He created numerous miniatures on ivory based on the works of his master as well as pastels, watercolors and Gouache. These are mainly mythological scenes, gallant scenes, his master's revivals of erotic scenes as well as portraits.
