Magnificent bronze sculpture with brown and bronze patina of origin of the large model of the Source signed on the Math.MOREAU terrace with its founder's stamp Médaille d'Honneur and bearing the inscription Copyright 1904 by LAPOINTE, numbered 5778. Of superb execution under under the control of the artist, this large model rests on an imposing sheath in gray and gold veined white marble with rich gilt bronze decoration in the Louis XV style and Napoleon III period. The bronze itself rests on an original dark gray veined white marble base with a gilded bronze groove. Moreau, from a family of three brothers, is one of the greatest sculptors of the 19th century and is preserved in the world's largest museums and prestigious collections. studied at the Beaux Arts de Paris in 1841, he won the 2nd Emeritus Prize of Rome in 1842, a medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1855 then 1878.
