"Haida Mask – Canada"
Haida Mask – Canada Polychrome wooden mask, typical of Haida work, the face with a benevolent expression. The eyes of the mask, the cheeks and the patterns on the forehead are incised in the wood and highlighted with varnished pigments of different colors. The mouth is half-open and has a hole, and the lips are pigmented black, contrasting with the blue cheeks. This same color is used on the patterns carved on the forehead. His eyebrows, eyes and the pattern in the center of the forehead are manifested through black pigmentation. On the reverse, the mask is hollowed out. We can note the exceptional quality of the mask. The varnish is a little cracked, testifying to the age of this object.
