Spanish Vargueno Walnut Cabinet. 18th century work, magnificent cabinet (word which designates a chest for personal use which was portable or travel placed on a base). furniture in two parts. Note that the flap is missing but does not detract from the charm of this very beautiful piece of furniture. Opening on the front with 8 drawers in total (6 small and 2 large) with gilded bronze handles and locks. Presence of original side carrying handles. Presence of 2 retractable supports in the shape of St Jacques shells which originally support the cabinet flap. The chest rests on a magnificent sculpted and molded base connected by a bridge of turned columns. Good general state of conservation.
