Extremely rare set of oval miniatures (gouache on copper?, Highlights  with gold) representing in the middle the famous Empress Béghum Zeenat MAHAL (1823 - 1886), the wife of the last Mughal of India: Bahadur Shah Jafar. She is also called: The great fighter of the first war of Indian independence. Around the top are two small miniatures of noble men and four smaller miniatures of three portraits of young girls and a portrait of a noble man (prince?). Sublime work by an Indian artist from the end of the 19th century. Good condition. Frame from the same period.
