6 SARREGUEMINES earthenware plates, mid-19th century, representing in black chromolithography on a white background Napoleonic battle scenes, Egyptian campaign, Waterloo... Each center of these plates illustrates a battle scene to the glory of Napoleon at different ages. The wide edge of the plate is decorated at the top with the N of Napoleon on a sun background with the imperial crown above and a laurel wreath on each side. Below the N there is the Legion of Honor. On a moving ribbon is inscribed various Napoleonic events, in particular the names of the battles. On the outer edge of the plate there is the design of a chain which bottom is broken by an eagle with outstretched wings. It has a haloed head, it protects a cocked hat, a sword (from the coronation?) and a baton of command (marshal?).
