Very beautiful and large icon, in painted wood, work from the 20th century. The Holy Face or Mandylion, in the spirit of Russian production, First of the icons, "not made by the hand of man", this piece appeared in Edessa, transported to Consta, tinople, looted in 1204, and reappeared in France , disappeared definitively during the French Revolution. The veil is held here by two angels with the inscription “The Holy Face of Christ” underneath. Very beautiful painting, very well preserved. Tiny trace of use. Weight: 875 gr.
