"Regency Period Mirror 1715-1723."
Mirror, early 18th century–Regency. The frame has a rod, called Berain, with dentils for the one inside and a little wider and a different decoration for the one surrounding the mirror. The angles fixed on the mercury mirror reserves are in carved and gilded wood, a shell typical of the Regency period is part of the decor as well as scrolls decorated with acanthus leaves and pigs' tails complete this decor which we only find at this time. Reserves of original bisote mercury mirrors bypass the ice. The central mirror is 19th century but the 22 millimeter wide contours surrounding the central mirror are original. The sobriety of the whole makes it an asset for integration into many decors.
