A rare Chinese export porcelain Coffee pot made for export to the west. The lid with set with a silver vase in the Adam style, this would have been added along with the silver spout circa 1770 - 1790 when imported to make this just a bit more special than the ordinary.
The Adam style was popularised by Robert and James Adam who were responsible for the magnificent Syon House and Osterly Park among many other fine stately homes.
