It is signed by Francis Blin, a painter born in Rennes in 1827 and died in the same city in 1866. A landscaper from Brittany, this student of Picot began at the Salon of 1852. His style is quite characteristic. He often represents Landes, seasides under the lighting of rainy skies and plays with tones of gray which accentuate the melancholy aspect. he also painted in Sologne and in the Fontainebleau forest. Many museums have his works. Dunkirk, Alençon, Cherbourg, Clamecy, Langres, Lille, Montargis, Nevers, Reims and Rennes.
