The operculum is the “closure” of sea snails of the Turbidae family. After the death of the animal, this cover is mixed in the sea and collected on the beaches of several regions of the world. Considered a talisman in several cultures, it was widely used in Victorian jewelry under the name "shiva's eye" or "operculum cat's eye". Called also the Eye of Saint Lucia.
