"Lithograph Of Fresco From Pompeii Souvenir Of The Grand Tour Bacchante Woman In Antique Lenghi"
Lithograph mounted under glass delicately enhanced with watercolor on a black gouache background representing an antique-style woman dancing. This is the representation of a fresco from Pompeii found thanks to archaeological excavations carried out in the 18th century and popularized by travelers on the Grand Tour. This lithograph is part of a larger series of representations of the ancient frescoes of Pompeii published by Giacomo Lenghi. Several of these lithographs executed between 1840 and 1870 were deposited in the Library of Congress in Washington. Dimensions: 23.5 cm x 17.5 cm at sight 24.5 cm x 32.5 cm with the frame Beautiful polychromy. Very good condition, some very slight marks of age. It is very nicely framed in an original pitch pine frame which has been cleaned. Very neat set! A second lithograph from the same series, of the same size on sale in my gallery.
