Antoine Jean Desplan, born in Paris (Saint-Merri parish) on June 7, 1790, student of Charles Percier, admitted on August 9, 1813. Honorable mention at the Rome Competition on September 19, 1818 (A Public Walk for a Great City), 1st class on May 28, 1819, won the 1819 Annual Encouragement Prize (with 6 Medals), left the School on May 30, 1820 (replaced by Henri Labrouste), spent three years in Italy (architect in Paris; architect of the City of Paris; inspector of works at the Institute of the Deaf and Mutes, and at the Alfort Veterinary School, between 1824 and 1830, works inspector for the "Model Prison" in 1832; town hall of the 7th arrondissement in 1842-44, private constructions in Paris; exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in Paris in 1833; married to Marie Émilie Gertrude Ricciarda Rouby; died at his home at 43 rue de Seine in Paris 6th on December 24, 1873;
