The young author thanks the support that will be provided for the dress rehearsal of Marion de Lorme scheduled for August 10, 1831: “Although blind, my friend, I have just read you and I am writing to you. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my soul! I plan to shake your hand Tuesday evening (not Wednesday) at rehearsal. It will be a joy for me to see you and to rest my gaze on yours for a moment in the midst of the enemies and the assaults which surround me from all sides..."
