Collectible Cane - Dandy In Ebony - Knob Decorated With A Monkey - 19th

Dandy's cane in ebony wood, 19th century 

The pommel is decorated with a grotesque figure of a small seated monkey, meticulously carved: its glass eyes and bone teeth give it a lively and mischievous expression.
This little monkey, with his tail between his legs, and with both hands trying to put on a “seven-league” boot. and who wears around his stomach a silver belt attached to a chain (without visible hallmark).
The chain runs through the shaft and ends with a small bell, adding a sonorous touch to the cane.

The barrel is worked to imitate a thorny wood, and ends with a beautiful nickel-plated metal ferrule.

Condition: Good used condition, with a beautiful patina (only dust cleaning required).
