Rare perfume cellar or travel scent box, Berthet manufacturer, 198 rue du Temple, Paris, France, 1798 / 1808 in violet and rosewood veneer. The lid decorated with geometric marquetry. With his key. Complete velvet interior of its six cut crystal bottles, two of which are “pocket” with punched vermeil caps and necks, all with their little chain. A vermeil funnel without hallmark, a vermeil cup and a small timpani with a vermeil handle bearing the following hallmarks: master goldsmith's hallmark, Rooster hallmark with the 1st title, Vieillard hallmark surrounded by the numbers 8 and 5 (for Paris) and the hallmark of the Association of Goldsmiths from 1794 to 1797. The bottles still contain perfume and bear the label “Double extract of verbena. Lubin perfumer distiller. Patented, rue Sainte Anne 55”.
