Large Madonna With Child From The XVIIth Century On First Canvas With Original Lacquered Frame.

Large oil on canvas depicting Madonna and child with life-size figures. Executed by an Emilian painter active in the second half of the seventeenth century who harks back to the compositional and classicist ways of Guido Reni.

The painting is on first canvas and never restored before, so cleaning the canvas during the restoration phase would bring out the colorism of this interesting devotional composition.

The painting is mounted on a splendid Salvador Rosa frame lacquered in faux marble, measuring 14 cm in section and at least 7 cm deep.

The painting comes from an ancient collection in central Italy and has never circulated on the antiques market.
