"Bronze "the Childhood Of Bacchus" Signed Perraud 1859"
Bacchus, perched on the left shoulder of the Sylene son of the god Pan, pulls his ear and hits him with his thyrsus. The grimacing and laughing face of the playful god is touchingly realistic.

Produces the allegories of the Garnier opera, at the Louvre museum, at the Château de Fontainebleau. ..in Arras. His works can be found at the Luxembourg Museum in Paris as well as at the Lons Le Saunier Museum (Jura).

this copy is in good condition with a dark patina from the late 19th century early 20th century, signed PERRAUD 1859,  it should be noted that the thyrsus is screwed into the hand of bacchus and that there is a trace of sealing on its upper part at the level of the hand (welding? See the close-up in the photo, this detail is not detrimental to the work, but pay attention to this more fragile part). Some patina wear and classic assembly marks. Presented on a later gilded base.
