Fine Tabriz carpet from the North West of Iran Dating from the end of the 19th beginning of the 20th century. Tabriz rug in Iran made of quality silky wool pile on cotton foundation. Consists of a brick field with very original decoration of multitudes of flower buds finely drawn in polychromy and in the shape of exploded diamonds surrounded by foliage and very stylized birds in symmetry framing a central polylobed ivory medallion with a floral crown in pastel tone. Triple borders, the main of which is midnight blue with interlacing floral bulbs in pastel tones and fine branches with stylized foliage.
