A creative draughtsman, he was the head of the workshop at Maison Christofle. His creations of great technical quality are inspired by Asia, in particular for the niellage of silver and gold motfs but also enamel. which enabled the Maison Christofle to increase its international reputation by winning numerous prizes at the Universal Exhibitions of 1873 and 1878.
