This piece measures 135 cm wide by 193 cm long.
This particular type of carpet, the design of which is called "djangali", jungle, takes its name from the numerous floral motifs which fill the field of red color and for the old Joshagan carpets of rust color.
# An old copy appears in our Proantic gallery. See last photo.
The shades are intense and brilliant on a beautiful wool velvet. A beautiful Persian with magnificent graphics, in perfect condition.
Formerly the exclusive production of the village of Jowshaqan, these carpets have also been knotted since the Second World War in Meimeh and Moutcheh Khourt.
These villages are present on the main road to Isfahan.
The Meimeh have many similarities but are more rectilinear while having fewer different patterns compared to these Joshaqan rugs.
They are often confused with certain Bakthiars and in particular with the Samam.
The tradition of Jowshaqan carpets dates back to the 16th century.
