"Beaded Mirror In Golden Wood, Louis XIV Style, Napoleon III – 19th Century"
Large beaded mirror, consisting of a rectangular, beveled and protruding main glass. It is completed, by definition, by four secondaries, trapezoidal. These mercury mirrors show traces of age which, without harming the use of this Mirror, attest to its authenticity. On the generous pediment, where a quiver and a torch intersect, two birds, perched on two flowering branches, seem to observe each other. The gilded wooden frames are beaded for the interior one, scalloped for the exterior one. They are connected by sculpted ornamentation. The corners of this mirror are garnished with acanthus leaves. We will particularly appreciate the original advantage of the glazing beads, namely that of enlarging the reflection surface, but also the pretty pediment of this Mirror. ********* Period: 19th Century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop. Slight traces of mercury.
