Object description :

"Pair Of Mahogany Corner Cabinets, Louis XVI – 18th Century"
Pair of solid and veneered mahogany corners, each opening with a curved double door with a miter-cut frame highlighted by a grooved molding and a brass bead. The upper strip, also miter cut, has the same covering. These doors, mounted on brass hinges, include an authentic iron lock in working order with brass diamond entrances accompanied by their key. Note that the left door has interior top and bottom latches. The interior of the furniture offers two fixed shelves. The uprights are covered with half-columns with fixed grooves, with bronze motifs decorated with foliage in the upper part. The base of these corners features a frieze of canals. The whole rests on four legs, three of which, turned and blunt at the front, end in brass shoes. These pieces of furniture are topped with white Arabescato marble, coming from the Carrara basin in Italy, with grooves and slight projections. The top, back and shelves are made of oak. Rarely presented in pairs, these 300-year-old corners will please for their size and the quality of their wood species. ******** Period: 18th Century Excellent condition. Waxed finish.
