Large full-length portrait of St. Teresa of Avila holding a feather in her right hand and a book in her left, her head in the heavens, barefoot. Saint Teresa of Avila, beatified in 1614 and canonized in 1622, remains a prestigious figure of Christian holiness, both through her reforming work, sanctioned by the creation of numerous “discalced” convents, and through her mystical writings.
