"Oil On Caricature Canvas"
We present this very caricatured 19th century framed oil on canvas, we cannot help but think when looking at this painting that it could be a caricature work by Honoré DAUMIER painter born February 26, 1808 in Marseille and died February 10, 1879 in Valmondois, engraver, painter, caricaturist and sculptor. He was recognized as a great painter of the 19th century unfortunately after his death. He thus particularly caricatured politicians and men of justice. Our painting is very early in the 19th century, we attribute it to Honoré DAUMIER although it is not signed. Good general condition, old restorations, one clarification: he did not sign all his works. (E23)
