On this true work of art is Katana-kake (support 2 swords), the very fine decoration of this magnificent Katanakake is based on Mizuhiki, the Art of knots.
The base is a traditional black Urushi lacquer.
The main decoration in Taka-maki-e (relief decoration sprinkled with gold powder) represents a harmonious assembly of flowers, tied with cords.
The curved lines, for their part, are made in Iro-togidashi (decorations in many colors, based on pigment powders), making the whole very harmonious and very graphic.
On the legs, branches and back of the stand, wild ginger leaves, resembling the Kamon (emblem) “Futaba Awa”, are painted in Maki-e.
Condition: There are no major defects, but please be aware that there are some minor lacquer losses, scratches and dirt due to age.
