Pretty pair of Louis XVI period convertible armchairs with escutcheon backs in walnut. This pair of armchairs stamped Pierre Pillot reflects the work of this Nîmes cabinetmaker who excelled in the manufacture of seats. The escutcheon-shaped backs make them remarkable seats, the front and rear legs are fluted and roughened.
