"Aizelin Eugène-antoine (1821-1902) - Gleaner, Large Bronze Sculpture"
Large bronze sculpture with original brown patina representing a Gleaner, it is signed AIZELIN on the base and bears on the base a cartridge engraved GLANEUSE by E.AIZELIN (HC) OFFICER OF THE LEGION OF HONOR. Beautiful old cast iron from the second half of the 19th century. AIZELIN Eugène-Antoine (1821-1902) student of Jule Ramey and Auguste Dumont at the Paris School of Fine Arts in 1844, he made his debut at the Salon in 1852 and exhibited there regularly until 1897, he also participated in the Universal Exhibitions of 1878, 1889 and 1900. He obtained several awards at the Salon with a third medal in 1859 and a second medal in 1861, as well as at the Universal Exhibition a third medal in 1878 and a gold medal with the model in bronze from the "Mignon" group in 1889.
