Beautiful large 19th century engraving representing a Geisha by Kesai YENSEN, a student of Yeiji. Very beautiful polychromy and above all a large size for this old Japanese print. An elegant Geisha is perched on her wooden sandals. She is dressed in many layers of traditional clothing, predominantly blue with highlighted patterns of small dogs. The traditional headdress is very complex and the woman seems to be smiling broadly. The print has been reframed and presented on a plant background (straw or bamboo) in an old pink color. Beautiful dimensions: 73 cm by 25 cm excluding frame; and 87 cm by 39 cm in total. A very beautiful print, large and with a pretty pattern!
