"Directoire Period 5 Pieces Sitting Set 4 Armchairs And A Sofa In The Taste Of Jacob Late 18th"
Living room furniture, suite of 4 armchairs and a sofa in finely carved beech, model with fluted front legs, topped with a pink connecting thimble and Etruscan saber front legs. The belt carved with a row of piastres, armrest supports with fluted balusters, the scrolled backrest. They are covered in new silk gourgouran with Champagne-colored lines (Fontenay model by Tassinari and Chatel). Our seats are made in Paris in the style of Jacob from the Directoire period, around the mid-1790s. It is interesting to note that these seats are the transitional style between the Louis XVI style and the Empire: the front of the seat is still very Louis XVI, when the rear with the scrolled backrest and saber legs announces the Empire style. Excellent condition, old restorations. Horsehair trim on its straps, the 4 seats are newly covered in silk with black braiding. Very bright ensemble, a good alliance between modern and old. Length: 170 cm for the sofa, 56cm for the armchairs Height: 87cm Seat height: 41cm
